Jennifer's ROGERS

I would like to share some photos of the 2 Rogers drum sets that I have owned. The first was my Rogers Silver sparkle Cleveland Celebrity set. I owned this set from Christmas morning 1967 to the middle of 1976. My father, a professional musician, had a drummer friend pick this set out for me. It was hidden in the trunk of my sisters 64' Corvair until Christmas eve. One of my favorite Christmas memories, is seeing a model drum set (I still have) on the mantle, going to it, and then seeing my Rogers set in the mirror. I took lessons and played this set in a few bands during jr. high and high school. This was a true Celebrity set with a COB Dyna-Sonic. I wish I had documented the serial no.s and taken more photos. As I got started in my career, I had less time to play and my dad had a friend who wanted to buy the drums. Reluctantly, I sold them to him. The only items I kept were the cowbell and Premier cymbal stand.
Almost 30 years later, I wanted to get back to playing drums. But they had to be Rogers.
After much research, I found my Pink Champagne Pearl Holiday set. It is an original Cleveland set in excellent/mint condition and sounds great. I have had great fun obtaining the vintage Rogers pieces to complete it, including an N.O.S. Hi Hat stand. And I finally mounted my cowbell back in its rightful place. I'm not where I used to be with playing skills, but with lessons and practice it's all Fun.
P.S. I recently found the original receipt for my Celebrity set among some of my dads papers.. It was purchased on October 28, 1967 for $499.80
